President Trump never campaigned on massive Medicaid cuts, and he and many Congressmembers have repeatedly promised not to touch the program but are now rushing to make the biggest cut to Medicaid in history.

5 ways the reconciliation bill will hurt all of us

It would eliminate health coverage for 13.7 million people. More than 1 in 5 Americans rely on Medicaid for life-saving health care. This bill proposes cutting Medicaid by $700 billion, which means nearly 14 million people, many already struggling to make ends meet, will lose access to care.

It would funnel $80 billion for disappearances. The bill provides $80 billion for immigration jails, agents and operations related to enforcement and removal – giving the Trump administration a slush fund to kidnap more students and community members and experiment with ways to disrupt communities on an increasingly massive scale.

It would hand out $5 trillion in tax cuts to the ultra-rich. This bill would give millionaires a $68,000 tax cut and households in the top 0.1 percent a $300,000 tax cut, while raising taxes or doing nothing for 33 million working-class households.

Health coverage stripped from millions of people. The largest SNAP cuts in history. Funding for immigrant disappearances. These are just some of the proposals in Congress’ reconciliation bill. Learn more⤵️
