Heads up people

26.07.2025 03:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was opening old baseball card packs last year and decided to see what 40yo gum tasted like from a 1986 Topps back and boy was it...awful. Do not recommend. Not even as a bit
24.07.2025 14:05 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Marketing Dept gets to add "creator of one of Time's Hundred Greatest Podcasts of All Time" to my bio now and forever so that's pretty nifty time.com/collections/...
24.07.2025 14:02 β π 231 π 11 π¬ 14 π 2Then I got better but the skin on the bottom of both my feet basically rotted off over the next two weeks. When it was all over I said to the doctor "so now that I've had it I can't get it again right?" and he goes "no."
The depths of my hatred of HFM is bottomless
Stupidest MFing sickness I've ever had. 3yo kid got the least of it but me and her had ~36hrs of being as sick as we've ever been in our lives. We were at 30min shifts before switching off cause that's all either of us could handle.
20.07.2025 14:35 β π 18 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0this is β¦ honestly not the worst way to teach history
15.05.2025 23:18 β π 523 π 90 π¬ 10 π 19This is obviously abhorrent, as everything about all of this is abhorrent, but this did pop out to me because for the record it's *also* abhorrent to treat regular prisoners this way
15.07.2025 14:17 β π 270 π 59 π¬ 5 π 4Revolutions podcast host @mikeduncan.bsky.social gets into how stupidity leads to revolutions.
14.07.2025 13:59 β π 303 π 57 π¬ 13 π 11As a millennial dad, I have never felt more seen by a podcast episode than this conversation hosted by @weeklyshowpod Jon Stewart with Tony Gilroy (creator of Andor) and @mikeduncan.bsky.social, the great history podcaster whose work Iβve devoured for over a decade

10.07.2025 22:57 β π 214 π 11 π¬ 13 π 1Jon, @mikeduncan.bsky.social and Tony Gilroy discuss how easy it has been to convince Americans to accept our governmentβs worst impulses.
10.07.2025 15:56 β π 237 π 42 π¬ 7 π 7Jon welcomes Andor creator Tony Gilroy and Revolutions podcast host @mikeduncan.bsky.social to discuss how todayβs moment reflects themes from the show and revolutions throughout history. An all-new episode of The Weekly Show is out now.
10.07.2025 11:59 β π 255 π 35 π¬ 13 π 12Just finished @mikeduncan.bsky.social's Martian Revolution and it is staggeringly good. Highly recommended for any fan of sci-fi, history or both
Really hope we get more down the line
Me on Siecle to chatting with David about the July Revolution. Super fun! Enjoy!

My friends! I will be in NYC at the Frauncis Tavern on July 5 at 2pm to talk about Lafayette. Come! Bring your friends! It'll be fun I promise it always is. www.frauncestavernmuseum.org/events-calen...
17.06.2025 14:39 β π 169 π 11 π¬ 10 π 0Just finished @mikeduncan.bsky.social History of the Martian Revolution. 29 half-hour audio episodes of a fictional retrospective on the future history of Earth and Mars, full of fascinating characters, flawed decisions, important morals. Incredible work, overall.
24.06.2025 14:41 β π 89 π 9 π¬ 4 π 0If you're around Madison, I curated a table of books at Leopold's. Come buy some cool books!

23.06.2025 00:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To me the Girondins will always be the ones who beat the drums of war which to me is when it all started going sideways. History remembers them as martyred moderates but they have a lot to answer for
22.06.2025 04:30 β π 220 π 12 π¬ 4 π 1But there's also a trilogy surround Lafayette, Talleyrand, and the Comte d'Artois/Charles X. Who were all born within a few years of each other in the 1750s and died withing a few years of each other in the 1830s. Between the three of you can cover pretty much everything
22.06.2025 04:24 β π 106 π 1 π¬ 6 π 2There is an eviwioned trilogy of all the guys who were labeled at some point "The Hero of Two Worlds"
Hero of Two Worlds (Lafayette)

H3ro of Two Worlds (Garibaldi)
Just finished listening to this. Some of the best science fiction I have had the honor of experiencing, and some of the best usage of the podcast format. Totally brilliant!
20.06.2025 15:33 β π 70 π 8 π¬ 0 π 1Mike Duncan is my podcast GOAT. 'Revolutions' is an incredible work of clear vision; and takes painstaking attention and care to the actual people who lived through incredible violence and upheaval.
20.06.2025 15:21 β π 58 π 7 π¬ 1 π 0If this is all they got...
20.06.2025 15:13 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mike Duncan you beautiful bastard you've done it again. It's just awe-inspiring how gracefully this series stuck it's landing. I hope this inspire more people to start writing Fictional Non-Fiction because it's such an amazing genre that not many authors have explored.
