Funnily enough 2001 used to be on TV in the early ‘80s as a matinée. My classmates were part-bemused, part-irritated. Also my childhood TV mornings often involved Harold Lloyd, Laurel

I know the final disaster at the end has memory-holed this, and also aviation’s eco-impact, but it’s odd thinking that there was a commercial aeroplane capable of such speed (in the past) and now (in the future) there isn’t.

Shades there of my trip to the cinema to see Netflix’s The Irishman. I took a half day from work, missed the first ten minutes and had to leg it as the credits scrolled because the kids were due to be collected from Creche. Coulda/shoulda been a 3 or 4 part limited miniseries, Netflix.
