At the National Library’s lunchtime panel discussion today about the history of Irish comics. The Library looking great in real life and in Lego.

Comic Books in Ireland got a great recognition today from the National Library of Ireland discussion/presentation "Discovering Irish Comic Book History" . A bonus for me Declan Shalvey signed my Italian edition of his comic Old Dogs.

I will literally pay good money to see a movie which exposes all the tropes, every single one, mocked in this meme thread. 😆

Back from Sardinia but treated myself to holiday sa bhaile today, including a visit to the marvellous Mainie Jellett/Evie Hone exhibition in the National Gallery (where the Irishwoman in me can't help but see this one as a fried breakfast).

Yeah, definitely different types of heat hit harder. The availability of air con is a big thing too. For me, It’s also the difference between not having to do a lot on holiday versus having to do a lot of work/family stuff to strict deadlines while *being baked alive*

The strange subjectivity of perceiving heat: working in Berlin in 1992, it was 35 C some days. In Arizona and California in 2008, on the road, it was even 42 C. But I was much younger and on adventures. Today it’s 27 C in work and I AM EXPIRING. 🫠
