No, my reply is poorly phrased. Leica charge €45 for the quote if you don't do the repair. This is what he waived.

Yes, Leica are expensive but classy. I had several emails and a phone call from the head of repairs at Leica, Paris. He waived the cost of the quote, too!

Yep! I was expecting to pay about half this so that the resale value made sense of the repair.

I got the quote for the repair of my dad's Leica from Leica in Wetzlar, Germany

A strange figure was noticed in the streets around St. Germain des Près today. Over 7 feet tall and moving briskly, one coffee drinker got a snap of it (see picture). Last seen arguing for a discount in Muji.
