A black & white picture of the half-timbered facade of a building in Bayonne. It looks like an old photo, despite the angle being too wide.
Masquerading as an old photo of Bayonne
I now have a filter that can be applied to any photo that gives it this look. Despite telltale signs like lightbulbs being visible in the window, bottom left and the angle being too wide, the overall feel remains old.
That's nice of you. I saw the painting and thought there might be a story...

The picture shows several rusty padlocks attach to the metal grill of a bridge over the river Adour in Bayonne. At the bottom on the right there is a brass padlocked inscribed with the words "Sophie & Malcolm 05/08/2020 I🩵U"
Hi Sophie & Malcolm,
I hope you are both doing well. I thought about you today, 5 years and 3 days after you locked your love onto a bridge in Bayonne.
If you happen to see this post, let us know how you are both doing.
All the best,
Sebadee
The two spires of Bayonne Cathedral. one has been cleaned; the other is waiting.
A detail showing the flying buttresses outside the cathdral
The cathedral alter in gold shown against the stained-glass windows beyond
The gorgeous paint work on the vaulted roof of the cathedral. i bet this was renovated by Violet-le-Duc in the 19th C.
The cathedral in Bayonne dates from the 13th C and was completed in the 17th C. Wherever you are in Bayonne, it dominates the view.
I tried to represent it in just 4 pictures so settled on these.
A woman with straight off-white hair, orange striped trousers and sandals crosses a bridge in Bayonne the old buildings that front the river are out of focus in the background
I spent the morning in Bayonne doing "street". There was a 'brocante' selling old things near where I parked. I had to run halfway across the bridge to get this pic, but it was worth it!

I think this is a Cork Oak in the neighbour's garden. I love its slightly twisted shape and how it catches the light of the setting sun.
