Having some R&R and giving myself a little TLC with a spooky season day 23 watch of AVP... Requiem! Specifically the extended edition to see if more makes t better. I also am having some snacks to celebrate the autumn season!🎃🧡☺️

VHS Halloween (2025) Review:

Talk about a swing and a miss!
There were a couple of names involved whose work I really like, but no one was used to the best of their ability here.
The wildly varying tones strike a discord. Elements work, the whole does not. Worst in the franchise for me.💀

Spied a few classic Charlotte Brontë novels from the very early 1900s idling on the library shelves, each with an illustrated piece of her life next to the title page, they are a treasure in my hand!

Spooky season watch Day 22 was VHS Halloween. My quicky review: it felt much more mean-spirited and samey than usual, might be my least favourite one honestly.

Vamps (2012) Review:

Solid comedy about being a vampire in the modern world. Establishes it's whole world & the cast is bloody stacked!
Some aspects feel a bit rushed & things get dropped, it would have probably been better as a series rather than a movie, still an enjoyable watch though.

Shaun of the Dead (2004) Review:
(w/ zombie commentary)

Recorded by a few zombie extras just after the release. A fascinating snapshot as four middle-aged people mull over their experiences on set, make inappropriate jokes& bicker over cut scenes. At least they got more credit than most!

The Omen IV: The Awakening (1991):

Retreads elements of the first, only much less engaging.
Doesn't have the same shadowy satanic society vibe & focuses more on the "creepy little girl" trope, which they completely undercut at the end. Plus, the deaths are nothing to write home about.
