BBC, Sky, all UK media - you NEED to do better.

This isn’t β€œbalance”.

Iterations of this meme keeps doing the rounds for a reason - it’s because the press keep doing this!

Stop it!

Wow - those are quite phenomenal headlines given the details of the story.

Ahh look, he’s just a β€˜nerdy’ guy. No harm done.

You need to scroll down to paragraph 13 of the Sky piece to find the full story!

It is way past time for the UK government & the BBC to get off X & for Musk to be treated as a threat to national security.

The world's richest man is using his site to promote civil war, ethnic violence & the overthrow of an elected government.

You won't win him over with another conference on AI

I agree, adding that I’m very concerned about its effects on adult brains too. I think it’s much more psychologically dangerous to interact with an LLM designed to reflect your own ideas back flatteringly than to post on social media, where someone will always be ready to call you a c***

Always fascinating watching people underestimate the size of London vs other UK ciries.

On an average weekday, more journeys are made on JUST the Elizabeth line than the ENTIRE population of Liverpool.

If the Tube was a city, its average daily passengers would make it the 2nd largest in the UK.

Comet Lemmon taken from my backyard

Despite a very strong wind, I managed to salvage about fifteen minutes of exposure out of an hour and a half of tracking before it set, just enough for a last-minute farewell to Comet Lemmon, capturing it a second time after my first shot in early October. πŸ”

When a chatbot gets something wrong, it’s not because it made an error. It’s because on that roll of the dice, it happened to string together a group of words that, when read by a human, represents something false. But it was working entirely as designed. It was supposed to make a sentence & it did.

A politics that claims to speak for "the people" against its "enemies" is always dangerous.

"The people" are a glorious array of different ideas & interests, with democracy a dialogue between them.

Populism is founded on a lie,so its fruits are always authoritarianism, simplism & conspiratorialism

We are so sad to hear that Dave Ball, the keyboard genius of Soft Cell, has died. He was an electronic pop pioneer and with Marc Almond made a unique catalogue of songs, completely original in sound and content. Our love and condolences go to Marc and all those close to Dave. Neil and Chris xx

There are less than 200 constituencies across the entire UK in which the right cannot win. The only way to beat them is to vote tactically. In most parts of England, if you do not vote for your sitting Labour MP you will be making it easier for Reform to take power. That's just a simple fact.

The salmon population of the Wye is in collapse, and Atlantic salmon are now endangered in the UK. Those bringing the court case argue the needs of intensive farming cannot be permitted to outweigh the needs of fish, wildlife + river users.

Jubb describes the decline of the river really got going from 2016 onwards, when licenses for intensive chicken farms began to be granted in numbers not seen before - leading to a burden of phosphate + nitrate more than the river can process:

Very few printers print the actual white as an ink. The white parts of the TIFF would be transparent if printed on glass/perspex/acetate.
