It feels to me (I haven't pulled any data on this) like teams are using the transition from the pre-apron CBA to the present to squeeze mid-level, mid-career talent guys on salary. Or it may be that teams are making a hard judgment call that a 21-yo with upside is better for them than 2 know 28-yo.

Compared to say the Pritchard and Sam Hauser 4-year deals at $30 and $45 million total. Those felt like they were getting he NBA's version of a COLA but not much beyond that.

One that comes to mind as a vanishing contract is Grant Williams 4 yr/$53m deal that he signed in his age 25 season. It seemed like he was getting a bigger bump for possible performance.
