Climate Menu Labels May Effectively Shift Consumer Behaviors Toward Climate-Friendly Food According to a new study led by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF), labels placed on food items that indicate climate impact can serve as a tool to shift consumer behavior toward more climate-friendly food and to reduce consumption of high-generating greenhouse gas emission food, such as red meat.

A student-led study by CLF-Lerner Fellows and staff confirms that placing climate labels on menus may result in consumers making more climate-friendly choices.
