Mirrorless is the best! Much lighter and has silent shutter function. Different lenses but you can buy an adapter to use your current ones. Canon R10 for a cropped or R6 for a full frame are what I'd recommend. Mirrorless has saved my shoulders at cons

Fandom is a funny thing. I've met people IRL I like, but I see some posts online and I think 'what's with the drama'. I am stepping away from any drama within fandoms, ignoring it, staying away from Twitter for the most part (except con weekends for the photos)
