Books arrived yesterday and already starting volume 3 lolololol... Love discovering the slight differences between the manga and anime - manga dialogue definitely edges it but I'm glad I saw the anime 1st as it makes it a lot easier to follow the fight scenes.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.

I have never said stop protesting.
My Mum sent me an unsolicited message this morning saying she sympathises with Gaza but she thinks the protesters are loathsome (and worse words) and condemns them for protesting on the same day as the attack. You've lost her and I don't know how many others. π€¦ββοΈ

Every death is a tragedy, whether it's two people or two hundred thousand. You don't get my point - there have been protests every week for over a year, it's not news any more. Delaying the protest by a day could have won more support than the negative press from continuing, and you'd still protest.

Sure, but why not encourage more British Jews to join you as well? Jews who may have Israeli relatives. Better to be together in this. Suffering is not zero sum, I don't think we should say their suffering is not great enough to be acknowledged and show sympathy for 1 day, which is how this looks.

My point is that there's no need to hand them stuff on a silver platter. Unless you are advocating for another country to invade Israel, the only surefire way to stop this is for Israelis to get rid of Netanyahu. Holding the protests yesterday will most likely entrench views against you.
03.10.2025 09:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Yes we need to protest. Nothing stopping the protest being rearranged to another day though? It is very easy for pro-Israelis to use these visuals to stir up anti-Palestinian sentiment. It would have been way more powerful to delay the protest or hold a vigil. Jews are key to stopping Israel.
03.10.2025 09:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Love how he says we need to be aware of the complexity about this, whilst ignoring the complexities posed by having the protest on the same day. Israeli Jews are best placed to stop Israel, protesting and not showing sympathy for British Jews makes this so easy for Netanyahu to exploit.

For some perspective, 1,680 football pitches is 0.018% of UK protected land. To say that temporary HS2 construction sites are visible from space is desecration is insane. On google maps a dinner plate on a table in my back garden is visible from space.

My current GP practice already had an online booking system when I signed up to them 3 years ago. I doubt they were given any resources to implement it at the time. This is not rocket science, should Gov reward GPs for not moving with the times when others have already invested?
