A news tidbit: I've heard that the D.C. Council could consider a bill next week that would start the process of decoupling the city from the federal tax code. This would be done to counteract federal tax changes that critics say benefit the wealthy and decrease revenue.

These men use uniform language to describe their worldview. It isn't derived from personal experience or discovery, it's ready-made, an off-the-rack worldview that they're wearing and mostly they seem mad because it doesn't fit.

The other thing that's happening is that homeless centrists and non-MAGA conservatives are trying to co-opt the Democratic Party for themselves because they have no other reasonable alternative. What they lack in numbers they seem to be making up for in institutional power.
