So my #dailywalk fell into a bit of a hole when I returned from Melbourne late last week with the most incredible ankle pain. Physio diagnosed me with some weird tibialis tendinitis that runners get. lol. RUNNERS. Anyway back to the pool I go.

Day 3 of the #dailywalk self-challenge. Forgot to track activity but I did do over 9000 steps for the day which is pretty bloody huge for myasthenic wobbly legs. Lots of walking through State Library and to theatre that night. Also swam 1000m in the hotel pool which helped with my ankles immensely.

Ooh tell me about your fence guy. I’ve had two quotes so far but need a third for the ACT government house next door.

Felt like a walk so I did a walk. Wonky legs struggled and heaps of paranoia over shit footpaths I can trip over but I managed a bit over a kilometre with Nordic poles.

I guess I make this a daily thing this month to regain confidence and also leg strength?

#dailywalk

Apparently their respective doctors told them both to stop getting the covid booster. Even though covid caused me to get a life threatening autoimmune disease πŸ™„

Heavily into sewing gifts at the moment. A glasses case with vintage Japanese fabric, some drink coasters and now another friend and I are making a quilt from our respective sewing rooms, for a mutual friend. (Lots of texting of photos happening to make sure we are on the right page).

And also I might do some gardening. Highly significant.

Sadly I’ve had a few friends come down with Influenza A and all have been vaccinated against it. And that’s why so many people are wearing masks at the shops at the moment (I feel like I have comrades again!)

G’day. Forgot about this app for a bit, soz. What have I been up to? Swimming, quilting, embroidery, travel. All the best things in life that retirement can offer. Today I had massive scanxiety for my 6-monthly thymoma oncology appointment. But all made better by breakfast and a book straight after.

Got it in 3. So did my mum. Use that word regularly - we both sew.

Oh good luck with it! I’ve never been able to do that as it messes with my medication.

I hear you. I had a couple of weeks off with travel and then one swim in the middle where I absolutely hated everything and everyone at the pool. Very unlike me. Had a week off, pushed myself to return and have enjoyed it ever since. Sometimes you just need a good long break.

I’ve already banned myself. I’d planned to go in February 2026 for Quiltcon but won’t be since the orange fuckknuckle got in.

I don’t understand the proposed list though. So what, one Tongan tourist overstayed the Visa so the entire country is banned?

It was definitely worth missing Sunday church (aka swimming) for!

After my sudden hatred of swimming last week, I reluctantly went to the pool today … and loved every second. 1.2 km done and dusted.

This is what I had removed in May 2023, but mine came with myasthenia gravis as a bonus. 27 sessions of radiotherapy in September 2023 left me with lung and heart damage but hey no tumour! 😜

But I’m in a very good place now - turns out falling and fracturing your shoulder when alone in a different city to your own really is transformative. With the switch flicked, I’ve rebuilt my self esteem and confidence, am stronger and happier than ever, and fuck them.

Anyway, it’s a fraught situation. I don’t want to talk to them because they’ll want to talk about work. I don’t want to know about work. That team gave me so much grief and angst in my final 8 days there that it left me with destroyed self esteem, suicidal ideations and the worst anxiety of my life.

Reader: I won’t be contacting them at the 3 month mark.

But last night I googled β€œhow do I not feel guilt about ghosting my ex boss” and the AI review (can’t avoid it) was pretty spot on. β€œNo response is a response” and β€œghosting is a form of communication” were highlights. πŸ€—

Aggressively ghosting my former supervisor and I’m teetering between feelings of ick, guilt and utter triumph.

But figure if it took them 3 months to contact me and acknowledge my departure with a lame e-card, it can take me 3 months to reply to their β€œI miss you soooo much let’s chat” texts.
