I think the general indirect point here is that taxes should keep going up with more wealth until it's essentially impossible to have more money than this. Make wealth asymptotic in nature, not exponential.

If you make a billion dollars — or $500 million or even $100 million dollars — and you keep trying to make more, then there is something seriously wrong with you. It's a mental illness akin to hoarding or drug addiction.

another theory: many of these big AI companies have a side goal of making PCs extinct, so people dom't have the freedom of running their own software. they want everyone to have thin (as in thin-client) walled garden devices that are just pipelinea to their ai ecosystems

Happy thanksgiving everyone

And I'm finding myself wanting to just gush at everyone who chooses to keep me in their lives, if even in fleeting ways, like a lovey drunk at 2am.

I don't... actually have the energy time or attention span to message *everyone* (or even most people) but if you're reading this: I'm thankful for you

And as I've been thinking about things, and more importantly reaching out to people and telling them, now it's like floodgatea have opened and my mind is just a torrent of love for my friends, family, the city I live in, all the people around the world fighting good fights...

I know that things like happiness and graditude are skills that require exercise, and that social connections require effort from all parties, so I wanted to at least take today to acknowledge the things I do appreciate, even if it's not easy to really feel it

I came into this thanksgiving filled with a lot of distraught and cynical thoughts. Life is not great and hasn't been for a long time, and I feel burned out beyond burned out, and lonely and isolated. But I know that I do have things to be thankful for, and I made a choice:
