Pavel Elagin, Lighting Demo Reel
This is "Pavel Elagin, Lighting Demo Reel" by paberu on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.
Towerborne is out! I spent the last 4 years on this project. I feel very fortunate to have been part of such an amazing Env Team, we made some really cool stuff! Unfortunately most of us are now also looking for work =/
Anyway, I want to share my first ever Lighting Demo Reel!

Hi #PortfolioDay!
I'm Pavel, an environment art generalist. I've been working on Towerborne (Feb 26!) for the past 4 years. I love painting vivid locations, but also helping out with modelling, set dressing and lighting.

Center text: "TOWERBORNE"; Four characters stride towards the viewer. Left to right: A character in barbarian gear wearing a giant skull, carrying two daggers; a character with large barrel-like gauntlets; a character in a helmet carrying a sword and shield; a character in full plate armor, a large metal war club resting on their shoulder. There is a large tower in the distance, half-timbered houses and waterwheels attached to its exterior, a large windmill atop, and a large bell inside the windmill. In the foreground, two small creatures hide among grass, broken/abandoned machinery, and discarded weapons. There's some clouds in a big circle, maybe some trees and hills and whatnot, probably some stuff hidden in there that I forgot about idk, I made this a minute ago.
The same four characters striding towards the viewer. Left to right: A character in barbarian gear wearing a giant skull, carrying two daggers; a character with large barrel-like gauntlets; a character in a helmet carrying a sword and shield; a character in full plate armor, a large metal warclub resting on their shoulder.
The characters, despite taking up much less of the frame than the surrounding environment, are way more complicated than the rocks and trees, on account of being humans with anatomy and facial expressions and whatnot.
Towerborne, the game I've been doing environment art for, had its Game Preview launch on Game Pass yesterday. They gave me the privilege of painting up some alternate key art for it
Not just the rocks and trees even, they let this environment guy draw the folks and hands and faces and everything π¦
