Today would have been the 65th birthday of my best friend Sue Murphy. I miss her friendship, laughter, wisdom, advice, counsel and comradeship. RIP Sue. 💔❤️💔

This morning I hosted a visit from representatives of Westminster Adult Education Service @WAESonline at the @ManAdultEd facility at Gorton Hub. We agreed to work closely together to share experience and information.

This week I joined @ManCityCouncil staff and industry sponsors at the graduation event for this years amazing PlanBEE programme participants. The programme creates pathways into construction for young people from Manchester. It's a brilliant scheme and it was a great evening.

Today I chaired the board of Manchester Adult Education Service. @ManAdultEd MAES is a place for adults to learn new skills and gain qualifications. As part of @ManCityCouncil MAES is committed to enabling Manchester residents to learn new skills.

I recently gave the opening address at the Manchester Active Sports Club Conference Day. The goal was to bring together committee members and leaders from sports clubs and community groups who oversee the delivery of grassroots sports programs in Manchester.

Delighted to have been selected by Chorlton Labour Party members tonight to be Labour's candidate in the 2026 local council election. 🌹

Good to be out this evening with @ChorltonLabour colleagues listening to residents on Kingshill Road talking about things that matter to them. 🌹

The Manchester Be Proud Awards are one of my favourite Manchester City Council events. Massive congratulations to everyone who was nominated and all the finalists and winners and to everyone who quietly gets on with helping others and making Manchester such a caring place to live ❤️
