Great to visit the Mcr Airport Aviation Careers Festival today with my colleague Cllr Annette Wright. Over 500 school and college students seeing a mix of exhibits & engaging activities, showcasing the vast aviation careers available at the airport. @AnnetteWright @MCCWorkSkills

On Friday along with Chorlton and Chorlton Park councillors and Jeff Smith MP, I attended the opening of the Emerald Way shared ownership scheme next to Beech Rd Park. This adds to the housing mix in Chorlton and is already 1/3rd reserved.

A great turn out for the National Apprenticeship Week event today at Wythenshawe forum. Organised by Mike Kane MP, MCC Work & Skills team & BW3. Almost 400 residents and young people attended including 60 students from local schools. @MikeKaneMP @BW3Manchester @MCCWorkSkills

We had a fabulous meal at Bar San Juan last night. This little place on Beech Rd in Chorton is amazing. Pay a visit and try great tapas in a great atmosphere. But you probably need to book! 😉

Earlier this week I attended a great event at The Portico Library with Cllr Garry Bridges and GM Mayor Andy Burnham to focus on developing & funding a great plan called #PorticoReunited to preserve and develop this unique Mcr facility.

I was delighted to be part of the announcement that Mcr is confirmed as a start/finish location for the Women's Tour de France Grand Départ 2027. Fans and the world’s best teams will descend on Mcr as the world's biggest women's race comes to Mcr orlo.uk/zpVIW

Earlier this week myself and Cllr Mathew Benham joined the MCC Work & Skills Team as they visited over 40 businesses across Chorlton to showcase the wide range of support available for business growth & hear valuable feedback about the local area.

Nadim Zahawi arrived in the UK from Iraq as a child refugee. His family claimed asylum once they were here. Today he has joined Reform who will stop all in country asylum applications. Under his new party, his own family fleeing persecution would be immediately deported.

I was amongst the Chorlton Wombles this morning. We found the usual waste on and around the Eees. We also found a hat, a ball, a safe, and a whole dump of paper receipts, and two bottles of bleach, two bottles of washing up liquid, a knife and a tape measure!! 🙄😬😂

Fantastic Christmas Tableau this evening at St.Clements Church Chorlton. The Christmas story told by local people to a very appreciative audience. I was ,as usual, portraying a Wise Man (obviously! 😂)

Last night I went to Moonwalkers at the Aviva Studios, one of the most amazing shows/events I've ever been to. Breathtaking sound , vision. The story is a reminder of when the USA reached for the stars not wallowed in the gutter. A must see. On until 11th January.

In Manchester, residents over 60 are eligible for free swimming. We understand how important it is to keep active so we are proud of this scheme!
