We condemn Vox Media’s May Day decision to lay off a majority of @polygon.com staff w/o warning as part of the sale to known media-brand-destroyer Valnet. We stand in solidarity with the staff who were laid off, and with @voxmediaunion.bsky.social in their ongoing contract negotiations.

Hard agree. I have been known to share this with all my TTRPG and fantasy-loving friends.

Polygon's loss will ripple through multiple families and industries. It will be felt first by the excellent folks who were callously laid off today, the freelancers who held polygon up as the byline to have in the nerd space, and also by the small and indie creators. Absolutely terrible.
