Love the new Chrome Reading Mode feature that reads the content for you. Looks like it's just starting to push. I have Chrome Version 142.0.7444.52 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows. #GoogleEDU #EduSky

Watching a segment of www.enemiesproject.org - where a pro life man and a pro choice woman have a sit down. Tough to watch, but seeing the human side of people whose ideas are so against what you believe in (at least initially), is powerful. Curious about how students would respond. #EduSky

Shuffle Buddy Foster a strong classroom community by frequently shuffling your seating charts–while respecting your students’ individual needs. Randomize seating charts in one click.

Checking out and liking www.shufflebuddy.com for making seating charts. It allows you to have "keep together" and "keep apart", custom room arrangements, and tagging seats (like front or near teacher) and students for preferential seating. Also imports from CSV. #edtech #EduSky

Actually, Slavery Was Very Bad The president’s latest criticism of museums is a thinly veiled attempt to erase Black history.

I debated writing this. It can feel tempting, upon encountering yet another instance of this administration’s racism, to let it be. How many ways can you say the same thing over and over again? And yet we have to write it down, if for nothing else, so those who come after us know we were against it.

Teachers' Strategies for Pronouncing and Remembering Students' Names Correctly | KQED A mispronounced or forgotten name can have a lasting impact on students on how they feel about school. Teachers provide tips on how to make those names stick.

Prepping for work with faculty starting next week. My school uses Namecoach and a tool in our SIS with names/flashcards. I'm curious what other schools do to make sure students feel known from day 1.

As we prepare for the 2025-26 school year, some things to consider and keep perspective.

Beloit used to do a list of things to know about incoming freshmen. Anyone have something similar for their students?

First day back at school for the 2025-26 school year (and my 20th at my school). I brought a pan of brownies - pretty much gone. Most of the folks here today are year-around, so a bribe for all of them to put up with me seemed like a good way to start.

Our current LMS (Veracross) and CMS (Google Classroom) aren't exactly friendly to the practices shared during the training. There are a lot of overlaps with standards-based grading, so I'm investigating Toddle and JumpRope. I'd love to hear what others would suggest. #gradingforequity #EduSky

Feels like a case of ICE being used as a secret police or "Gestapo" when they're used as a political tool whose goal is to promote fear and compliance rather than enforce laws.
