I open up one goddamn can of soup in the kitchen at 1am, and this doof pops outta nowhere to give me shit about it, because it's not for him.

It's my favorite game. Nabbed it on release just before my senior year of high school, and it just resonated with me on every level.

I wanted the series to move forward like Final Fantasy, with each game being its own story and world.

Cross was fantastic. I just wanted it to be its own thing.

11 years late, but I'm finally playing The Witcher 3.

At work manually converting all of our Publisher files to PowerPoint right now, and I just want to bury my head in the sand and scream. 🫠🙃

I've ranted about this numerous times for so many years. Cross was a great game on its own that was only hindered by that forced crutch of a connection in the final act.

Trigger ended perfectly. It didn't need a continuation.

In all seriousness, though, I am determined this time. I know I'm in for a long haul, but I don't care.

My backlog is full of games like this, and this is one I've wanted to officially tackle for far too long.

To every friend who has asked me in the past about why I fell asleep so many times when attempting to play The Witcher 3:

The opening few hours are peaceful as fuck.

It's not boring! Just simply traveling across the open countryside, and all those nature sounds and soothing music knocked me out.

InFamous has a shit ton of potential for future sequels. While Second Son didn't quite match up to the scale of the first two (I blew through it in under a week), it still blew me away with its depiction of Seattle.

The first game and Prototype perfectly nailed that anti-hero vibe in 2009.

It only took 18 years to finally make MGS4 playable on other platforms.

Now I'd like to see Sucker Punch follow suit and bring inFamous 1 and 2 out from the PS3's shackles as well at some point.

I've only played 4 through once, and I look forward to revisiting it in August.

I also caught myself falling asleep when trying to play it late at night, because the music and nature sounds when traversing the map are just so damn soothing. 😂

I'm going to attempt to get re-lost again, so wish me luck that I finally see it through!

Oh... and Gwent will be a nice distraction.

Nearly 11 years, and I still have never beaten The Witcher 3. I thibk the farthest I've reached was about a good 15 hours in before my ADHD brain went and followed another shiny thing. 😑

I have replayed the first 5 hours at least six times.

I need to focus. I really want to love this adventure.

I'll say one last thing about Borderlands 4: If 5 ends up going the same direction 4 took, this series is best left buried.

End game loot was trash (not one single legendary drop) and the platinum requires you to get all 4 characters to level 50.

I may peek at the DLC later, but I'm out. 😐
