Must admit I was slightly dreading today but Salop played some excellent stuff and were full value for the point - in fact I think we were the better side over the 90 and made Walsall look very ordinary at times. 👍

Scenes of reflection just after the final whistle at Croud Meadow, where Shrewsbury Town were held to a 3-3 draw by Gillingham despite twice taking a two goal lead.

Frustrating. The first 45 saw some of our most enterprising play of the season (and a superb Luca Hoole strike) but our poor ball retention throughout came back to haunt us in the second term as our attempts at game management floundered in the face of our opponents direct onslaught.

Players and fans celebrate as one, as Shrewsbury Town claim a well-deserved 1-0 victory against Newport County at the Croud Meadow. The evocative nighttime scene is illuminated by the new LED bulbs in the floodlights of the East Stand.

Anthony Scully's sumptuous long-range strike was the stand out moment of an open-ended but scrappy encounter from which Town deservedly claimed all three points. A MASSIVE victory and, at last, we finally have parity between points won and games played 🎉

We might have nicked a point on another day but it wouldn’t really have been deserved. Crewe miles ahead of us in terms of quality and dominated for long periods.

I think it is. They're a club I've associated with FA Cup giant killings though, after they beat Coventry City in the late eighties (a couple of seasons after they'd lifted the Cup). Not sure they'll be looking at us as giants though!

Admittedly we were poor first half, but much better after the break, and scored two good goals. To concede twice five minutes after scoring was disappointing, but it's starting to feel like we've turned a corner results-wise. Only problem is, the teams around us have too!

Painful to drop two points at the death, but it's now four games unbeaten, and this important away point keeps us out of the bottom two, despite wins for Crawley and Newport. In fact, it moves us up a place above Accrington. We're still moving in the right direction.

Gutted we couldn’t hang on for the victory but plenty of positives from today. Both our goals were decent finishes although we should have defended better for both of Oldham’s efforts. Good noise from a lively away end

A positive statistic: No other League Two club has had as many clean sheets at home this season as Shrewsbury Town.

I felt that the challenge warranted a second yellow card, although I too admit to raising my imaginary red card and chanting 'off off off' in such dramatic fashion that 'off with his head' would not have done his crime justice. 😎

Back-to-back wins. Three clean sheets. Three unbeaten. Dreamland 👍

The final whistle has blown at Croud Meadow and the players begin a celebratory lap of the home stands following Shrewsbury Town's second home win in a week (a late 1-0 triumph against Crawley Town).

Back-to-back wins, a third clean sheet in a row, and just the type of gritty, resilient and determined display we have been craving for the longest time. Something is stirring in SY2 and I think I like it!

Yes, it'll be interesting. Either way, it gives the option to add much needed experience to midfield, either by Josh playing LWB, allowing Clucas to go back into midfield, or having Josh himself in a midfield role. He'll also be useful central defensive cover if needed.

The 31 year-old can play at wing-back, in central defence and in midfield, and has spent the vast majority of his career playing in either the Championship or League One. Could be a great addition!
