Alberta teachers look for ways to make ends meet as historic strike in second day | CBC News
Some Alberta teachers are trying to figure out how to make ends meet without their regular paycheque as a provincewide strike entered its second day Tuesday.
If Adrien Dominguez were teaching this week, he'd be introducing physics to a class of 38 high school students.
Instead, the math and science teacher from High Prairie, northwest of Edmonton, is at home trying to figure out how he'll keep paying his bills.

EDMONTON β An Alberta judge says bars need measures like heated outdoor shelters and free coat checks to keep patrons from dying in the cold after leaving.
It comes after two men, aged 18 and 20, died of hypothermia near the former Ranch Roadhouse in south Edmonton.
Recommendations also include clear definitions on over-serving and steps to get intoxicated patrons home safely.

Thrill of the carnival ride comes down to physics: Calgary professor
EDMONTON - Gregg Korek knows a thing or two about roller-coasters.
You know that feeling during a carnival ride when you're hurtling through the air at breakneck speeds? Turns out, it's physics.
Crazy, I know.
And if that's not enough, meet the man riding a ferris wheel for 54 hours straight for charity!
