I guess a maintainer drops by due to github/email pings, add the notice and move on. The issue might be more around un-owned packages, and the community inability to issue warnings/deprecation notices.

I'm believing more and more we shouldn't export types at all whenever possible. Makes any migrations harder when inference works for most people.
