Williams statement: During Qualifying Franco sustained a significant impact of over 50G, requiring a medical check up. An impact of this magnitude is obviously significant and severe and he will need to be evaluated again tomorrow before we will know whether he is clear to race.
George Russell asked to be the last car on track in Q3, knowing the circuit would ramp up, and duly delivered pole.
Several at Williams were hugely concerned earlier today about the prospect of another crash, and Colapinto’s huge hit here will be another costly issue, likely meaning even older specifications will be required. Vegas aside, still two races of this triple header to go. Awful timing.
