As a bw, that is one of the biggest reasons I could never get into the show. They wrote her in a way that you could never truly empathize with her character and personhood. I personally found it degrading and was surprised there wasn’t a lot of pushback

The foil between Angela and Tasha on Power is textbook misogynoir and it’s honestly not talked about enough. I really do cringe at how Tasha was written as a dark skin black woman and it’s one of the reasons I stopped watching that fucked up show
