On top of all that there's uncertainty in how to pay the damn tariff. Since I have to forward a lot of what I import the cost isn't factored in so what's the process for how I pay? There's so many unknowns.
I hate this. What is even the purpose of all this besides just making people miserable?

Even if there are no paperwork errors there's still the issues of ad volorem or specific rates. There's the vagueness of what "per item" means when it comes to specific duty? Is it per package or per item in the package? If the latter the $80 flat rate per item is insane.

I want to buy goods for some upcoming events but I'm really hesitant now with the import tariffs about to hit. I've already seen some horror stories about DHL not converting the declared package value from yen to USD and people being charged thousands of dollars for orders only worth $50-60.

I'm just assuming Palantir already has me on a list of subversives for all the anti-Trump views I've espoused over the years so I might as well double down and really commit to the bit until the day comes when they drag me off to the camps.

This problem that has be driving me nuts for weeks was caused because I mixed up the names of two structs that define the register map for this IO expander depending on the setting of the bank bit. I'm so fucking dumb man holy shit.

Not like I was gonna bother declaring a couple acrylic stands even if I was supposed to. I didn't really buy much and it would've been ridiculous to pay import duties on less than 10k yen worth of goods.

With tariffs in full effect now I expected them to search all bags coming back from Japan looking to collect tariff revenue but they didn't really search anyone. Hell with Global Entry they don't even ask if you have stuff to declare. They just wave you through.

Anyone know if the $800 duty free imports is still a thing? I got Asobistore stuff coming and I want to know if I should expect it to get held in customs till I pay tariffs?

I really gotta contact Vanguard at some point and ensure that absolutely none of my 401k is invested in Palantir or similar industries. I do not care if it prints money, they are a horrible company building a horrible future and I want nothing to do with it.
