F. Water heater ded. Basement partially flooded (not too bad, most stuff is fine), need new water heater. No water for the time being.
Can't catch a break.
First the storage unit, then the car, now the water heater... dare I ask what's next?

Been running with a major sleep deficit ever since the storage unit flooded on Monday. It's really been kicking my ass this week. It's just been a bad vibes week all around. Blegh.

I got quite lucky, most of my figures made it out with little or no damage since I bubble wrapped them pretty well. It just ended being more of a huge annoyance since I had to repack my unit and try to ensure everything else stays dry till they can relocate me.

I'm mostly just glad Ichigo Miku survived unscathed because I was real worried when I saw the bottom of the outer box I had it in just sopping wet, nearly ready to fall apart when I picked it up... fig box feels 100% dry and I don't see any stains... which is good because she was hella expensive.

I lucked out quite heavily and I think of all the figs I had in storage on Riamu's had actual water damage and only on a tiny corner. The boxes I had everything in were sopping wet on the bottom but the few layers of bubble wrap I put along the bottoms and sides really were the savors.

PLEASE BEWARE, IF YOU HAVE OTAKU GOODS or really any goods in self-storage be mindful if your unit is next to a utility room or HVAC room. Probably fine most of the time but issues with HVAC can lead to flooding. Either get a different unit or put something like a pallet down and put stuff on that.

The lady at the storage facility was VERY reluctant to give me any details on how the unit flooded, only that the water came from the "unit next door." I kept prying because I needed to know if there was a risk of flooding again and eventually got her to admit it was related to the HVAC.

Just got a call from my storage unit that they had a leak in the building and they want to check if anything got into my unit..... fuuuuucccckkkkk. Thousands of dollars of figs, few standees, and a bunch of other stuff might be water damaged.... Fuck me 😭

I guess now's a good time to reorganize my YouTube, prune some dead channels and split my main in two, one for im@s and seiyuu content, and one for everything else. I should probably tie them to different gmails too in case main gets nuked again.

I can't fucking believe it, I got banned on YouTube too. Once again for "files" discourse. Like, instant channel removal. Not a big deal since I don't upload, it's just for keeping track of the channels I watch but still, kinda fucked up. Submitted appeal, might have to make a new one though.

Sometimes you just gotta get a little whacky with it and fly a bit too close to the sun. If you never take any risks are you really living?

My O365 has been broken for like 2 weeks now, IT hasn't managed to fix it. Now everyone is on vacation and I still can't access my email. All I want to do is check the holiday calendar and see if we have Christmas Eve off or not... but it's on SharePoint and I can't access SharePoint.

I could go on for hours... not just about the songs Ruru was in, there weren't that many tbh but I mean, Diamond Joker... amazing... but there was so much more that I absolutely loved both days.
Also kinda managed to convince me need to dip my feet into Shiny more.

SEM... GAL... into the opening of Gossip Club is going to kill me every fucking time. Absolute perfection.

So many little interactions that I missed from my vantage point so in some sense it's almost like I'm watching it for the first time again.
All that said my productivity is kinda tanking today because of it so I should probably stop watching for now and get some real work done 🥲

I knew MOIW was REALLY good but watching some of the archive on my phone at work.... fuck it's SO GOOD. Like better than I initially thought and my initial impressions were really high.

Anyway it was nice to get that little bit of good news before I head off for MOIW. Just one more work day left.
Longest flight in the universe Thursday.
Arrive Friday, hopefully ahead of schedule so I'm only a little late to the DJ party instead of over an hour late.

The only downside is going back to coming in at 7am which is gonna suuuuuck.... though the traffic IS better that early in the morning before they start closing lanes for construction... and I get out earlier which is nice. It'll just take awhile to adjust to it.

Big team reorganization at work and I'm going back to my old team next year... which I'm secretly thrilled about because tbh taking this new position was a bit of a mistake and I don't feel like I resonated well with a lot of these older guys. I was a lot happier with the old group.

You think in like 20 years having any level of education in America (not having a degree, but actually being able to show competency) will like, make you defacto King of the Retards or something?
Like the masses will flock to you for guidance?
Actually that sounds really annoying...

I will go after work, have a beer and a few appetizers, hang out for 30-40 minutes and then fuck off to finish packing for MOIW.

Tomorrow is the engineering group Christmas party which tbh is kinda ill timed because I have to paaaaaaccck...

You ever have a day where you need to change your pw at work and that simple act completely breaks O365 and you can't log into anything and IT spends half the day troubleshooting only to find out Windows hasn't updated since 2020.
I didn't get much real work done today.

Once again time for the post-trip tradition of disabling biometrics on my phone before going through US customs.
