Beauty in small things

Amidst wild tangled green and straw, a glint of a ladybird red.

How I see things..amidst wild tangles..a glimpse of crimson…I look closer..🐞

The long-awaited "nemesis bird," the #AmericanGoldfinch, finally came into clear focus. He stayed still long enough for me to change lenses, and squeeze off 3 photos before flying away. A sweet reward!

On a sunny afternoon, we see a closeup of a female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird hovering in place while she sips from a feeder. The feeder is teal colored glass with metal, red flowers making up the feeding ports. The hummingbird's head and lower back/tail are that classic iridescent green while its breast and abdomen are a dull white.
