If you belong to a union, many have death benefits, for which a beneficiary should be named. Named beneficiaries receive everything faster and more easily than people named in a will.

Go to the bank this week to name beneficiaries on your accounts, including retirment accounts, brokerage accounts, etc., if you haven't named them already. Beneficiaries override a will, and make it easy to simply transfer money to anyone you choose when the account holder dies.
