I'm closing off 2024 with this little healing spell ! ✨
It was pretty refreshing to take a softer approach to my shape language and timings ! 😄

For 2025 I'm aiming to deep-dive into environment VFX (but also make more character FX ofc) so stay tuned for that ✨

Mostly to put all of the focus on the effect itself and not draw too much attention to the environment (I think)😊 Although making vfx in a fully constructed environment is also a very good exercise !

It's done ! ✨ This one was fun 😄 I experimented a bit with baked fluid simulations for the dissipation of the magic circle ! It was a bit tricky but I think it came out alright !

Continuing on the fire spell from last time, I made a first version of the projectiles and the impact ! 🔥 Lots of things to tweak of course but I'm at a place where I can feel confident about using this as a v1 ! ✨

It's done ! 😄It was pretty fun to work on and a nice change of pace from my last couple of effects ✨I managed to make a nice material to handle texture distortion so I'm pretty excited to play with that in the future 😄

A bit of progress, I ended up shifting to a buff effect instead of a summon as I was heading (once again) towards "sensational but not usable". It's still a bit rough so I'll spend the next few days polishing until it looks like it could fit in a real game 😄✨
