We find that Denisovan ancestry in Eurasia spread through gene flow from early East Asians, but that the Jomon, very early inhabitants of Japan, had much less Denisovan ancestry than other early East Asians providing evidence for n ancient East Asian lineage with little to no Denisovan ancestry

An early East Asian lineage with unexpectedly low Denisovan ancestry Yang et al. study Denisovan ancestry in ancient and present-day humans. In contrast to other East Asians, genomic comparisons suggest that the Jomon derived most of their ancestry from a deep lineage ...

In a new paper led by Jiaqi Yang we trace the distribution of Denisovan introgressed DNA in ancient modern human genomes over time.

When testing a computational data analysis method: simulated data are good for checking whether the method is doing what you think it should be doing, real data for checking whether what you think it should be doing is any good.

๐Ÿงต Bioinformatics faces a critical challenge: despite its importance, software quality often falls short due to the lack of proper development practices.

In our latest paper, we advocate for improving software quality in bioinformatics through teamwork.
