(6) Some of these communities have already realized this, but let's take it a step further. These groups tend not to interact much with each other, but this is where the Megazord potential is, so to speak. As in, niche communities linking up and coordinating tactics to fight fascism.

(5) The fandom is also connected to many Power Ranger actors that are guests at conventions, who could create lots of visibility with their very specific clout. There’s untapped energy and resources within communities of this kind that could totally create speedy mass mobilization.

(4) The dedicated fandom people of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, and income levels ranging from poor to "can afford thousand-dollar cosplay outfits." Most are weird, queer, nerdy, neurodivergent, and inherently anti-fascist since Power Rangers is about outsiders fighting evil with friendship.

(3) Members of these communities tend to come from all kinds of diverse backgrounds including geography, which means they have a much larger spread of resources that they might be able to access. Take the Power Rangers fandom, for example, of which I (Eric) would call myself a member.

(2) So this includes communities based around fandoms, fetishes, artists/makers/craftspeople, academics, special interests and hobbies, etc. These groups are usually highly mobilizable because everybody knows each other and members are close on a level that runs deeper than identity categories.

(1) There’s an organizing strategy that the Left has overlooked that could create the momentum needed to fight against all the things-- niche communities aka communities not specifically organized around identity categories the Right is focused on attacking like race, class, gender, sexuality, etc.

(7) Just a theory! I’ll be building on it as I try to harness it against capitalism (since it includes many groups that are basically invisible to capitalism’s grubby little fingers like neurodivergent adults, fat people who don’t want to lose weight, night owls, intensely queer people, etc.)

(6) I believe that this genetic distinction I’m proposing between hunter-gatherers and homebodies continues to this day because the sun still rises and sets, but this phenomenon has been made invisible by many factors including caffeine, capitalism, and civilization itself.

(3) The first humans evolved around the equator with 12 hours of both day and night year-round. Maybe there weren’t just hunter-gatherers, but also a third category that cemented itself at the genetic level during the many many thousands of years of equal day and night at the equator-- Homebodies!

(2) Asterisk: the model of the paleolithic hunter-gatherer we learned about in school has since been revised. It’s now believed that tribes stayed put until they couldn’t anymore like if there was a forest fire.

(1) I’m sketching out a unifying model of mental illness, neurodivergence, queerness, and even “obesity” based on chronotypes (night owls, morning larks, mids) Here’s my bet: night owls have a much higher chance of being neurodivergent, queer, and fat than non-night owls. Not a bug but a feature!
