Dunno if paid courses count but I really liked Leslie's character design course over at Underpaint Academy. It's quite comprehensive.

Really appreciate the follow. It's pretty dead there and will prob take more time but hopefully i can get the train running on posting again, hopefully you too someday.

That's how i feel. Realizing that i never thought of what i'd want to say with my art beyond learning has been a revelation that i' m still struggling with.

Learning art has been extremely helpful to me but i have to put just as much effort to find my voice if i want to do this further.

People love to say how one should "just pirate adobe" not realizing how important it is to use and experiment with the alternatives. And specially really good artists like you to champion these alternatives.

Saw an old interview from Glenn Keane getting numbers on Instagram and he was sharing his opinion on certain animation techniques and i was dumbfounded by the sheer amount and variety of dumb comments telling him what to do.

Going viral brings out the most confident dumbasses out there.

Yeah something similar was said by a teacher about focusing on the unique YOU and the rest will come. But finding that about yourself seems just as difficult as the skill honing part of the craft, it's a lot of introspection that mostly leads to nowhere.

We keep trying though.

The more i learn about the industry the more i share your feeling and everything feels so self derivative. But as i have gone all in on Art i'd like to make it a viable option for me..How? I have no idea and it keeps getting more confusing 😅

It's all weirdly mysterious, for as many artists who have exact tips on how to get into the "industry" you see just as many who are gonna tell you that they dunno how they got in or have any specific advice.

Everyone has to find their niche in an already niche field with ever changing parameters.

Clip is just so much better in general as a drawing app. Photoshop just caters to the trend obsessed industry.

This one's stubborn and way bigger in scale 😅I feel like i have spent most of my 2024 just staring at it. Posting on social media, finding your reasons and more vague aspects of art become part of these plateau and problems that feel unsolvable, but they still linger in back of your mind.
