Real leadership for women isn’t about suddenly claiming the mic when it suits you. It’s about who you stood alongside when it was hard, who you made room for when you had power, and whether you used your influence when it counted, and not just when you want to hoard power.

The weird men online have endless reservoirs of psychological dysfunction and large expanses of time to marshall their obsessions into people’s mentions. More often than not, they win. Several former politicians have admitted that being subjected to monotonous daily abuse was a factor in their public breakdowns. Former prime minister Jacinda Ardern has moved to the US and still requires security escorts when she re-enters the country.
yes in this case Ray Chung seems to have tripped over some clown shoes straight into a trough of horse manure but the internet's weird men have found a lot of success doling out a heady mix of abuse and defamatory rumour, and our media has too often been complicit thespinoff.co.nz/politics/15-...

I have supported the Mayor through this type of nonsense since she was elected and will continue to do so. Please don’t vote for behaviour like this or anyone associated with it. It’s disgusting.

Deeply, unapologetically committed to the cause of reshaping the state to naturalise markets at the centre of all things, regardless of harm caused.

Genuinely bizarre & no basis in principle to suggest it's improper to continue implementation of decisions made by council *years* ago

Government has announced a timeline, a design and say they have a defined budget, but they've only just shortlisted builders?
It really doesn't seem plausible.
Douglas Murray's sourcing for "On Democracies and Death Cults" is extremely sloppy. One paragraph is clearly paraphrased from a New Yorker piece that he does not credit.
Murray simply cannot be trusted to be accurate. Here are some receipts. 🧵
Incoming: positive local government story! Great to chat about the 30 percent increase in Wellington library users and the many years overdue books that are finding their way home, after my move to remove library fines.
