Oh yes, great example. We will never truly know all the answers or exactly what Lynch’s work means and I think that's kind of beautiful. And it forces us to think about it. I love that.

I hate those things.

Research is important and good. The fact that we all have little computers in our pockets but no one bothers to use them to look stuff up anymore boggles my mind.

I just feel like if art is spoon fed to you did you learn anything? Did you even feel anything? Did it make you view something outside of yourself in a different way? I don't know, kids. That's a pretty sad way to experience art and life. Just saying.

I've interviewed enough filmmakers over the past decade who have told me that the viewer is expected to interpret their movie in their own way. But when I tell a total stranger on the internet that sometimes movies require you to put in a little work and think about things, I get blocked. Lol 🤷

Yes! This movie is like an awful gut punch but also a really moving audiovisual experience. The moment when the dad is devastated and grieving and he drops acid and starts to vibe with the music has haunted me. I think IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT is great, but I think SIRAT is better.
