New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

Apprenticeships only work if the employer understands their responsibility and values the individuals. We have senior aerospace engineers now who can as apprentice technicians - because we don’t see them as cheap labour and we do invest in their development. Just making more spaces is not enough

Europe must stand together.

"If Europe is to survive a future attack by Russia — and that is the kind of language being used — its big players must behave in a way they haven’t done before. They must be joined at the hip."

The EU is the bastion of democracies, law and human rights.

They are all the things Tories, Farage, Putin & Trump reject in unison.

& the only reason they hate those rights in society - they can't get away with murder, theft, rape, genocide, fraud in those nations no matter how much they try.

Welcome to Britain, a country so short of dentists that an MP's 87-year-old mum pulled her teeth out with pliers. Also a country with thousands of foreign-qualified dentists who can’t work until they pass an exam so oversubscribed it’s like trying to book Glasto tickets. www.ft.com/content/f4e5...

UK charities face ‘culture of fear’ as threats and violence surge Exclusive: Charity Commission chief condemns public hostility towards staff helping women and refugees and at places of worship

No good deed, thanks to the vicious propaganda campaigns of the billionaire media, now goes unpunished.
They hate it when anyone tries to make life better for vulnerable people.

This is horrifying and cannot be allowed to become normal.

"A surge in death and rape threats and harassment has created a 'culture of fear' at charities serving women and refugees, and at mosques, churches and synagogues."

Presumably, Reform will claim this was all years ago, and while he's completely innocent, "everyone" had massive presidential style election campaigns in Clacton back in the long distant er summer of 2024

It's being reported internationally. In the UK, mostly, silence.

Given a) Farage's past; b) the expanding story about Russia and former MEPs; and c) media enthusiasm for "what influence is being bought?" questions, if anyone to left of Mussolini is gifted so much as a cup of sugar, why is Reform facing no such questions about Friday's £9m crypto-bro donation?~AA

I'm old enough to remember when Gordon Brown was forced to apologise to a woman for calling her a bigot.

The very least we should expect is that Nigel Farage apologises for being one.

This story more than any other disgusts me.

Yinka was a little 9 year old boy

Farage was a swaggering bully aged 17

We all knew those bullies at school and in this case teenager Farage was a racist bully too
