Fireball appears to explode over southeastern U.S. The American Meteor Society has received nearly 150 reports of a fireball spotted around 12:24 p.m. Eastern time.

An exceptionally bright meteor appeared to have exploded in the skies over the southeastern U.S. on Thursday. Most of the reports are from Georgia and South Carolina.
