I would have Jokic and SGA switch their awards over the past two seasons, but it's clear they're the best two players today in what is the NBA's Golden Age. I don't think Jokic will qualify for MVP, so we can kick that discussion down the road. Wemby will join the discussion in 2026-27.

Jokic's defense isn't SGA's, but he's better offensively. He's likely the best defensive rebounder in the game and switches very well in the pick-and-roll.

EPM has his defense +1.5 (93 rating) with SGA's +2.2 (97). Jokic's DRTG is 112.4. he's become quite good without being a real shot-blocker.

Jokic's defensive metrics have been very good the past few years. I think you're underselling its impact.
