A bit tardy, but here is my annual top five films of the year! I saw 27 films released in 2025 (so far), and my favorite was 1) One Battle After Another - A brilliant, biting satire with incredible performances. 2) Mountainhead, 3) Weapons, 4) Sinners, and probably 5) Ballad of a Small Player.

Opportunity Explained: Structural Racism, Life Pathways, and Systemic Change
It took about two years to make this video, from initial script to final animation by the amazing Rama Duwaji. The video shows the critical difference between expanding *access* to opportunity and *enlarging* opportunity itself, never illustrated before. youtu.be/qq40In0ooWA?...

Opinion | Trump and Musk: The Bromance That Cannot Last

I have never liked the idea of πΏ in response to online drama. Schadenfreude has its place, but that often feels mean. I am resisting the urge right now for this Musk-Trump feud. This is highly entertaining.

2024 Films Ranked
A list of 27 films compiled on Letterboxd, including Conclave (2024), Juror #2 (2024), Dune: Part Two (2024), Hit Man (2023) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).
There are still a few films Iβd like to see from 2024, but my top 4 seems pretty set at this point: Conclave, Juror #2, Dune p2, and Hitman. The performances in Conclave had some of the best acting Iβve ever seen. Overall, it was a pretty good year. letterboxd.com/smenendian/l...

I finished watching Star Trek Deep Space 9 tonight! I watched four seasons in four months. Winter is definitely the best time to binge TV. It was an amazing metaphor for Fukuyamaβs end of history. Thinking about writing an essay on that point.
