Ok bringing up an old debate- I am writing my R35 second renewal, and itβs hard to squeeze it all in 6 pages. Both margins justified saves me 6 lines but my husband claims itβs hard to read. So: left- or both- margins justified for grants????? Please help!

How to present science Β· Episode
Just listened to the second episode of Marloes ten Kate's "How to present science" podcast.
Very interesting insights, how to deliver the key message in the beginning to increase engagement as well as into the ABT model. (Although the Tesla references did not age well) (1/2)

University launches new research support program | The University Record
U of Michigan @umich.edu set aside funds from central to support researchers with unexpected disruption in federal funding for up to 6 months.
Are any other institutions doing this? Seems like a good move.

The hits just keep coming for this cohort. First f*cked by COVID and now these delays and obstructions. We need to pursue creative funding strategies and keep the pipeline flowing.

If a metastatic #cancer cell is offered 2 paths it decides very fast, bc it does matter where it goes...
OTOH, if a non-cancer #cell is offered 2 options it takes some time to explore and decide.

Could one envision a synthetic receptor technology that is fully programmable, able to detect diverse extracellular antigens β both soluble and cell-attached β and convert that recognition into a wide range of intracellular responses, from gene expression and real-time fluorescence to modulation..
