Glendronach has always been one of my favorite distilleries, and this expression is on another level. I’ve tasted the Forgue 10, Revival 15, Allardice 18, and Parliament 21, but this release lights up everything I love about well-aged Scotch.

I do not posses that knowledge. I’m curious to hear more about it though.

Enjoying this Driftless Glen single barrel rye pick from Elixir Spirits in Spring Hill, TN.

A great pick! I can’t wait to make an old fashioned with this.

Happy F(Rye)day! I was surprised with a bottle of Wheelers Raid Toasted Honey Rye at cask strength.

I am surprised by how much the honey tames the mint leaf spice of the rye. It’s still on the nose, but not on the palate.

I don’t think I need to say much more. This was easily my favorite birthday gift this past weekend.

Just seeing you said you have family nearby so obviously you know it’s in GA 😂

I’ve seen this Jimmy Red from South Carolina but I haven’t picked it up yet. Doc Brown is using it but they don’t ship to TN. They ship to pretty much every state but TN and I think AL because of our stupid laws. They are located in GA.

We got to meet Wendy, a wonderful soul! A master blender for Penelope, helping launch them into their success.

We also met Amy & Paige, of Doc Brown Farm and Distillers. Could have talked with them for hours. They pioneer sustainable farming and proving that it makes better bourbon.

We visited Leiper’s Fork Distillery this past weekend and attended their Women in Whiskey panel. It was an insightful hour of conversation from fascinating women. Master distillers, owners, consultants, blenders among them.

It was a fun way to kick off Pride Month

Interesting. I do like their Barrel Ale (original) though I feel the quality isn’t what it once was. I’ll have to give theirs a try. I do like a single malt and didn’t realize they had one.

To those following along this is Town Branch Distillery in Lexington, Kentucky. They are the same location that is Lexington Brewing Company known for its Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale which is an Irish Red. The head of the company trained with Guinness in Ireland! Fun facts.

They have three location. We went to their Thompson Station location where they make their gin. They also have an East Tennessee location where I think their moonshine is made. I have not seen or tried their beer.

I have. It’s amazing. It’s 100% rye, which is uncommon in the US. It’s a majority toasted rye with a bit of malted rye and it’s got spice to it but it is smooth and full of flavor. I was very surprised. 100 proof

Cheers to Pride Month!

To the work Alt National Park Service is doing!

And my birthday 😂 🥃

I’ll be having a sip or three of bourbon and scotch tonight and toasting to our endurance under pressure!

Never quit. Never surrender, and don’t let them change you.

Cheers! 🥃 thanks for being a sport. I’m sure there are a lot of Scottish and Irish distilleries you’d school me on. Though, I am hoping to make a trip to Scotland next year and tour as many as I can. Assuming the US hasn’t outlawed international travel by that point 😂

It’s not the same name. They import gin and whiskey from a partner, but the person who founded the distillery studied under one of those popular breweries you mentioned. They are more well known for their American beer than they are their whiskey. Both the brewery and distillery share a location.

Well, that’s what I was saying. You’re right that it’s an American distillery, but they got their still from Scotland. Their ties are actually connected to an Irish brewery that is very well known.
