Anyway as much as everything sucks right now and I'm exhausted to the point of being bedridden some days I do gotta remember "potential to inherit my parents' house within the next couple years" is an incredibly privileged position to be in

Lol forgot again that sometimes when I post things on bluesky my phone browser flings me to a month+ ago on my timeline and now it looks like I'm rifling through someone's profile

We're still being realistic though and the first step is cleaning it up enough to hire a house inspector to tell us what needs to be fixed and if anything needs to be fixed first before we can safely live in it and then assessing things from there

Like don't get me wrong this is a hoarder house full of mice and will be a *ton* of difficult and disgusting work but I honestly believe it's possible to turn it around

Both of my parents keep telling us that fixing up their old house to make it livable and then living in it is more trouble than it's worth but I really don't think they understand the lengths we're willing to go to to own a single family home lol

We also got a mimic ottoman from them for our troubles lol. it's sized for children so it's small for an ottoman but it makes a good footstool

Everything keeps arriving bit by bit and we gotta keep going over to assemble something but at the very least it's a good excuse to come over and make sure she's doing alright without her feeling like we're hovering

Since we had to move my mom in a hurry we didn't have time to completely furnish her apartment before she arrived but after we got the essentials in there (bed, dresser, couch, table & chairs) we could focus on other essentials, like a mimic ottoman

we still have furniture to assemble once it's delivered but at least that part is fun. they're getting a bookcase and tv console on monday

Sometimes I consider selling some of my leftover stuff online in some capacity so I guess the laundry hamper would be good confirmation that the stickers are still good

I tabled one (1) time in 2019 and it was a great experience and then everything happened forever and my immunocompromised ass is probably unlikely to do it again at this point so I might as well use these stickers for something

I'll take a photo tomorrow when there's better lighting but the new leaf has been doing well. Probably at its final size so it didn't surpass the current largest leaf but being tied for second is still pretty good

I saw them sitting together there again in the middle of the night so they might think the blanket just does that and it's not me making the blanket warm, which is probably for the best since at least one of them would be smart enough to press the on button when I'm not there
