67 countries prohibit physical punishment of children. It’s time for England to catch up.

At our event with @nspcc.bsky.social & @barnardos.org.uk we urged MPs to help #EndPhysicalPunishment for every child in the UK.

This needs to include some projections around flexible working, both early and late in career, to ensure gaps aren't worsened while staff are well supported.
This planning also must include proper headroom so rotas and services aren't caught short by staff sickness and other leave.

We desperately need a realistic workforce planning strategy, with attempts made to forecast the number of consultants needed, so the bottle neck isn't just moved to post-CCT.
More NTNs are absolutely required and it is essential that this is done properly for a world-leading health service.

An interesting and useful read for those on #maternityleave from across #MedSky - I suspect I will be revisiting this later in the year when my own return to the workplace and nursery for my little one beckons.
