29.07.2025 03:05 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0When a typist happens upon a legend in the dairy aisle: it was wonderful this afternoon seeing my old friend Dick Irvin Jr., still motoring at age 93. Happiness and good health always to one of the absolute greats β a broadcast icon, prolific hockey author and an encyclopedia of the game.
22.07.2025 21:18 β π 37 π 3 π¬ 6 π 1AI Overview tells me that the late, legendary Gump Worsley was born on this July 22 in 1929. That intelligence is indeed artificial. In fact, the Gumper was born on May 14, 1929, but I never need an excuse to post a photo of one of the great characters of his time or any other.

Legendary βTerrible Tedβ was a fearless giant in the game whose impact off the ice was even greater.
21.06.2025 10:17 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The history of the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded since 1965 to the Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP, is rich and colourful; over six decades, one of the most beautiful trophies in hockey's showcase has lived a full life. I've done some research and barely scratched the surface: www.nhl.com/news/sam-ben...
19.06.2025 12:22 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Credit late Detroit Red Wings/NHLPA legend Ted Lindsay for what you saw on Florida ice last night. It was Ted, in the 1950s, who began the tradition of skating the Stanley Cup around the ice to share it with the crowd; he always maintained that he played for the fans, not an owner or management.
