wood elf druid i created for an irl dnd oneshot last month! she just want to laze around with animals but is forced to join an adventurer party due to some Circumstances. outfit design is very inspired by bg3. no owlbear was harmed in the creation of her coat (it's fake) #oc #dnd

so in the project i'm currently working on, if something goes wrong internally a character named "Error Joseph" shows up and tells you what the error message is. Error Joseph is drawn as a 90s coolguy with Source Engine missing texture glasses

It's infuriating. There is absolutely a sustainably profitable market for games, forever, but alas you would only make 2x money and not 100x.

They would rather burn all the money chasing that 100x, achieve nothing, and irrevocably destroy people, culture and the whole industry.

I sort of fundamentally don't buy any argument that attempts to blame the industry's problems on attention-share (tiktok / netflix / whatever), kids all playing Roblox, or really anything beyond the critical pain point that "investors are not funding the kinds of games that provably make money"

I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.
