I engaged in some very polite discussion about an article saying porn addiction didn't exist and I was like "hey i agree that the crusade around porn addiction is straight up wrong but the meta study used here just says a lot of people are guilty about consuming porn, not that addiction cant exist"

That's not to say the porn addiction crusade isn't totally overblown and annoying asf and doesn't need to be shut down asap, but to post this article with the sentiment of "porn addiction isn't real" when that's not what the article says at all is not helpful for anyone seeking information

I have to play devil's advocate for the sake of science here, this doesn't mean porn addiction isn't a thing. It just means there are a lot of people that feel bad about looking at porn and THINK they have a porn addiction. It doesn't actually disprove the idea that porn can be addicting.
