It's an interesting idea but it falls flat when you consider that part of the cost of a console game goes to the console manufacturer. There's no way to buy a switch game and play it on an Xbox or PS5 without giving them their cut, even if the developer wanted to.

World of Warcraft is such a staggering game.

At the end of a month of playing MoP classic - albeit about half spent levelling yet another alt to 85 - I'm still blown away by the breadth and volume of quality content available.

Why did I have to choose Name of the Wind and ASOIAF as my favourite fantasy series. Why did I choose to spend a decade waiting for these sequels. Why must I wait for the California hippies.

They act like plenty of word professors and some web text inputs haven't automatically replaced hyphens with it for decades too!

MoP classic is extremely fun and just as rewarding as the first go around all those years ago. The biggest difference for me is that I no longer suck and can competently play other classes than paladin!

It's such a hard game to get people who've never played it to play yet such an incredible experience that every person that plays it cannot stop talking about how good it is. In the top 5 of all time for sure.

IMO Itch bears a lot of blame for how they're handling it but it is 100% being instigated by the payment processors.

A huge problem now is that Itch has set the bar for what the processors will accept - any retreat will carry enormous risk.
