I interviewed Winona a while back and we spent the first third of the chat discussing our cat’s heritage (her cat’s lineage had been in her family since before she was born). Protect this woman at all costs.

Just wrapped up the Comic-Con panel for The Long Walk. Hope everybody in Hall H enjoys the first 22 minutes of the movie! Funnily enough, they had to black out a particularly brutal first death in the movie. Too intense for SDCC! The movie does not flinch, trust me!

Among the greatest promotional photos of all time are these for the 1990 television movie of IT, where it looks like a prestige legal drama about a firm of hot young lawyers and one associate who likes to dress up like a clown.

Best part of the SDCC show floor are all the weird little collectible booths. Movie posters, OOP soundtracks, toys, books, etc. I nabbed this great Cycle of the Werewolf promo poster from 1985 tonight!

I really, really didn’t like Eddington. I haven’t had such a visceral negative reaction to a movie in a long time. Like, everybody is good in the movie but man did I totally bounce off of the story and premise.

The non-petty reason I’m pulling for Superman to resonate with mass audiences is it would be a sign that people are resisting cynicism, which has been running rampant for a while. Troll culture has been dominant lately and it’d be a nice win for empathy if this particular story is embraced.

Box office does not equate to quality. If Superman were to bomb this weekend (and I don’t think it will) I wouldn’t love it any less. That said, it would be nice to see it make bank just so all the worst parts of fandom melt down into puddles of teary rage. Petty? Maybe. But honest!
