Legal experts condemn Apple bowing to White House's request to remove ICE tracking app It's the latest example of tech giants bowing to pressure from the Trump administration. Legal experts say the developer of the app has free speech rights that may have been violated.

In 2016, Apple refused to help the FBI unlock terrorists' phones, and filed lawsuit after lawsuit to resist.

Today, it completely caves Trump admin pressure to remove ICEBlock with no resistance whatsoever.

It's a good time to boycott Apple.

Furloughs, closures and mass firings threats: What's next in the shutdown fight On the first day of the government shutdown, Republicans and Democrats traded blame while a small bipartisan group of senators began to negotiate.

Since the GOP is such a goat rodeo that they can't get their own members to do their jobs, they need Democrat votes. And Democrats are using that leverage to ensure the GOP doesn't kill our healthcare system and impoverish Americans by gutting the ACA.

Since Fitzpatrick says he wouldn't back the Big Ugly Bill because of Medicaid cuts, he should stand with Democrats on restoring Medicaid funding as a condition of ending the shutdown.

He can't just care about Medicaid when it's politically convenient for him.

Trump to place import taxes on drugs, home furnishings and heavy trucks President Trump said he will put import taxes of 100% on pharmaceutical drugs, 50% on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, 30% on upholstered furniture and 25% on heavy trucks starting on Oct. 1.

With a federal shutdown looming, a weakening jobs market and inflation climbing, adding Trump's additional tariffs are only causing more economic pain.

Trump administration rehires hundreds of federal employees laid off by DOGE Hundreds of laid-off federal employees who managed government workspaces are being called back to their jobs as the Trump administration walks back plans to slash its real estate portfolio.

Tell Fitzpatrick if he is truly against waste he will work to hold DOGE accountable for the costs associated with the firing and rehiring of hundreds of GSA employees and empty leases.

Trump suggests more US cities need National Guard but crime stats tell a different story

Crime spiked in 2020 when Trump mishandled the COVID crisis, but post-pandemic crime rates have been decreasing.

Trump's claim of crime rates to justify deploying the National Guard as local law enforcement is a spurious pretext for constitutional overreach and intimidation.

Politically-inspired violence is never an acceptable answer. It solves nothing, and it often sparks additional violence in response.

We reject political violence in all its forms. And we offer our condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Kirk.
