πŸ“ˆ #IFSSatStat: More than four in five current claimants of contributory benefits have claimed for at least a year. This means if the new 'unemployment insurance' set to replace this system is restricted to a year, the vast majority of current claimants would no longer be eligible.

Various photos of Reform’s former Leader in Wales, Nathan Gill, with Nigel Farage.

Just a reminder that Reform’s former Leader in Wales, Nathan Gill, has admitted taking bribes from Russia while an MEP.

Yet Reform spokespeople have suggested their leaders didn't really know Gill.

So here's a few pictures of him with Nigel Farage.

In 30years I have never been this upset with the words coming out of Government

This includes a plethora of Tory Health Secretaries

I am not part of BMA leadership

I am just a GP who gives up his time freely to advocate for patients, the NHS & make sure the facts are correct

My new tour starts in ONE WEEK! Very excited to get back out on the road with this show. To be brutally honest, sales have been lower than I would have hoped after last year's tour, but I know times are tough and there are a lot of people on tour at the moment! 1/2

Do you honestly believe this is an exercise in social prescribing to help people feel better?? Because it's literally the opposite of that!

He's been busy making loadsa money off his TWELVE JOBS whilst not actually doing the one job "we" pay him to do!

Exactly, no work coach!!!

They are on about putting a work coach into your GP surgery so that they can push you back into work ASAP.

This isn't a prescription for exercise to boost your mental health, just a push to get people off PIP/LCRWA.

This isn't a healthy way to get people back into work.

Had similar years ago, the only support I wanted was counselling, which I luckily got immediately.

If I'd had a work coach breathing down my neck at the time I probably wouldn't be here today, there's no way I could have taken that pressure; work was the reason I had a massive mental health crisis!

Why is consumption in the UK still so weak?

One factor is the scarring effect of the cost of living crisis, says Catherine L. Mann.

Over that period, households experienced 12 years' worth of normal inflation in just two.

Are you on long term sick, disabled or have mental health issues??

If not, you definitely don't understand the type of pressure this will bring to people.

If you are... then you should have a better understanding.

It should always be about help, but this is the wrong setting for this!

09.10.2025 07:58 β€” πŸ‘ 13    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

We go to our Dr's to get help with our health, to hopefully get better (not always possible).

The pressure of knowing a work coach will be at your surgery could put people off going to appointments, which will lead to worsening health issues.

Sounds like another ill thought out plan.

London baby banks appeal for urgent donations ahead of winter Baby banks in London say supplies are running low due to more families facing increased financial pressures.

Urgent winter clothing appeal for UK baby banks.

In 2024 charity distributed 6,752 coats, 14,163 pairs of shoes, 2,857 blankets, 1,472 items of bedding and 45,220 pairs of socks to families in need.

Low wages/benefits; high energy, water, grocery costs; unchecked profiteering take toll.

Key takeaways:

1. Britain’s wealth boom has widened wealth gaps.
2. Passive wealth gains have disproportionately benefited the already-wealthy.
3. Intergenerational wealth inequality and inequality within regions have increased.
4. Wealth mobility in Britain is severely limited.

Senior Economist Molly Broome:
"Wealth gaps in Britain are now so large that a typical full-time employee saving all their earnings across their entire working life would still not be able to reach the top of the wealth ladder. These gaps are doubly concerning as wealth mobility in Britain is low – people that start life wealthy tend to stay wealthy, and vice versa.
Rising house prices and changes in the value of pension promises account for most of the growth in wealth gaps since the early 2010s, rather than any active behaviour on the part of individuals, such as buying homes or acquiring new assets.
Soaring wealth and an acute need for more revenue has prompted fresh talk of wealth taxes ahead of the Budget next month. But with property and pensions now representing 80 per cent of the growing bulk of household wealth, we need to be honest that higher wealth taxes are likely to fall on pensioners, Southern homeowners or their families, rather than just being paid by the super-rich."
