This is Georgia Fort as she’s being arrested by federal agents. Apparently, they had a grand jury indictment in hand. She was arrested for being an independent journalist who filmed the Cities Church protest.

I have a playlist of ambient, instrumental and electronic music that is 'writing only'. Mix with MyNoise binaural beat 'focus' generator. Sit at my desk, put that on. Within 20 mins, I can write. Like sleep hygiene for writing.

Just had a look. It will be interesting to see how they fare. Canada is such a tiny market. And part of the goodness of socials is the lack of traditional geographic boundaries. But it's always good to have choices and alternatives.

Discord just announced the same change to their terms of service as well. They've limited all users from the ability to participate in a class action suit.
This is a really bad trend!

Apparently BlueSky just did a similar thing in changing their terms to block class action. (Among other things)

The absurd thing about this stance (and so many provinces circle back to it far too often), is that there aren't enough beds/locations/services for the people who are actively looking for help. Why make space for people who don't when we aren't helping those who do!?

Nobody wants to get up to get get down anymore, and that's sad.

I saw your post on FB. I think that piece is honest and really important. I don't agree with everything, but i agree with the intent and overall point.

Also, 'cis white' isn't an insult until it's meant that way. Same as 'queer black'. It sucks when words are used as weapons or power moves.

I've definitely been more trolled on FB. I also see a lot of toxicity there. And on discord, reddit and everywhere else. It's a constant. I personally don't feel the need to seek it out.

That said, I haven't deleted my Twitter account. I just don't engage.

And now, having read the full article... (I thought it was abt the echo chamber) His list of "3 qualities of Blueskyism" is a list of things that are pretty much universal to social media interactions. I _thought_ I knew what Blueskyism was, but if this guy coined the term, I don't get it.

I totally get that this place is a polyanna void, but I can get up to the date news here and not have to dodge the shitstorm.

Other than auto and cross-posts, I haven't actively used Twit since 2015 when it morphed from a community to a rage farm then straight on dumpster fire. I got so tired of filtering through 'promoted' accounts to find my peeps that it just wasn't worth it. I still check sometimes. But it's bleak.

I suspect he and his pals aren't aware of how embarrassing he has become.

Term limits are not a bad idea. Also better enforcement of conflict of interest and conduct rules.
