I am certainly no expert (nor a stoic) but I was trying to point at the underlying absurdity of a "stoic" being *angry* that the *world is unfair* evidenced by *people are critical of me*.

If oppression was a unique function of government, you could simply cut it off and be done. If it can be imagined that in such an anarchy some might find an oppressive advantage over others then you've solved nothing, and any system you invent against that oppression is by definition a government.

The world is made of people, and government is just one thing that we do. It's reasonable to be frustrated when that organization method fails, but all we've ever had is each other.

Grow some food and make some friends. Help where you can and ask for help when you need it.

One objection I've never heard to running a government like a business is that no one has ever seen a democratically run business.

It just seems like- if you had a spaceship full of the thousand people you need to restart society on another planet, none of the people you would take are particularly well cared for in the current arrangement. It might behoove you to not literally force them to notice that.

The second guy has declared bankruptcy (perhaps multiple times), but he wants me to be mad that the first guy is having trouble paying back predatory student loans. Now the first guy’s healthcare is being taken away so that the second guy can contribute LESS to society.

'I must win' feels like a puzzle and 'my opponent must lose' feels like an action item, even if they are often (evolution historically) approximately the same. It seems like a decent heuristic maybe worth the brain calories in deep time. To your point, the asteroid can do one but not the other.
