I recommend Berkeley Springs. It's an odd little town, and strangely liberal. You'd also be welcome in Shepherdstown, but no cabins there. It's a college town. I'd steer clear of Harper's Ferry. The town is welcoming, but CBP has a training center there now

Literally no one is running. 😞 The ballot is blank for so many things; unopposed. In order to run there's a fee, and it doesn't pay enough to support a living. We don't have many independently wealthy people that can afford not to work

As for evidence, All 55 counties in WV went to Bernie in 2016. Then our DNC rep lied. I think that was a nail in the coffin here. If they're gonna lie, why bother? I still vote, but my encouragement to others is often met with doomerism

I don't even think THIS is true. Blue cities in red states are often more vocal about social issues. So many dems in red states don't bother voting because there isn't even anyone to vote for on a local level. We don't want a corporate Dem, either.

That's something that isn't really talked about; a lot of the people that came to the US were Christian in the "wrong way." Catholics, Quakers, Mennonites, Moravians (which may have inspired the Methodists founder John Wesley.) I mean, do they get to define "Christian?" That needs to stop
